I am a Senior Research Fellow and member of the Legal Advisory Board at the Environmental Law Centre (ELC) of the University of Cologne, an Associate Member of the prestigious think-tank research center, Global South Studies Center of the University of Cologne in Germany.
I have practiced as a lawyer and remain a member of the board of partners of Norwood Advisory LLP, an international law firm based in Lagos, Nigeria. I have been involved in several research projects, including the UNDP/GEF-funded project for de-risking renewable energy investment in interconnected mini-grids in Nigeria, which I led while working as Senior Fellow with SD Strategies in Berlin in 2020. The UNDP has published the report of the project. Being an expert in African Laws, I am the convener of the first African Environmental Law Conference in the Environmental Law Center at the University of Cologne. I have presented academic papers at international conferences and published articles in international journals. Also, I am a reviewer of academic papers for the International Journal for Health, Education, and Environment and served as an external PhD examiner at the University of Limpopo, South Africa. My research interests include sustainable development, renewable energy investment, environmentally friendly trade practices, and Foreign Direct Investment with environmental ethics in developing countries.
